Supplies for Tissue Paper Ghosts
Here’s what you’ll need to make this easy Halloween craft:
- White paper or cardstock
- White tissue paper or crepe paper streamers
- Glue
- Scissors
- Black construction paper or black marker
- Googly eyes
- Tape
- Pencil
You can use whatever supplies you already have. Don’t have googly eyes? Simply draw the eyes and mouth with a black marker or cut them from black construction paper.
How to Make Tissue Paper Ghosts
1. Draw the Ghost Shape
Start by drawing a simple ghost head and body shape on a piece of white paper or cardstock.
It doesn’t need to be perfect! In fact, I think the wonky shapes make these ghosts even cuter.
You can make them large or small depending on where you plan to hang them.
2. Cut Out the Ghost
Use scissors to carefully cut around your ghost shape.
If you’re making this craft with younger children, an adult can help with the cutting while kids work on decorating.
3. Add the Ghost Face
Now it’s time to give your ghost a personality!
Add two eyes and a mouth. You can use:
- Googly eyes
- Black construction paper
- A black marker
- Black stickers
Make every ghost different. Try different expressions to create a whole family of Halloween ghosts!
4. Add the Tissue Paper
Turn your ghost over and attach strips of white tissue paper to the bottom.
You can glue or tape the tissue paper in place.
Cut the tissue paper into different lengths so that some pieces are long and some are short. This gives your ghost a fun, flowing look.

Once the glue is dry, your ghosts are ready to hang!
Use tape to attach them to a wall, door, window, classroom bulletin board, or another surface.
