If youโre looking for a Halloween craft that combines creativity and a bit of science, this black glue art project is a must-try! Kids will love outlining spooky Halloween shapes with black glue and filling them in with bright, colorful paints. The bold black lines make the colors pop, creating a stained-glass effect that looks amazing hanging in a window or on the fridge.

What Youโll Need:
- White school glue
- Black acrylic paint
- Spoon or stir stick
- Thick paper or watercolor paper
- Watercolor paints or liquid watercolors
- Paintbrushes
- Optional: pencil for sketching first
How to Make It:
1. Mix the Black Glue
Pour out some white school glue and add a few squirts of black acrylic paint. If you have a full glue bottle, it’s hard to mix the paint evenly!
Stir until the glue is evenly colored โ you now have black glue!

2. Draw Your Halloween Design
Use your black glue to draw fun Halloween shapes on your paper โ try pumpkins, ghosts, bats, cats, or spider webs!
If you want, lightly sketch your design in pencil first to help guide the glue lines.

3. Let It Dry Overnight
This is the hardest part โ waiting!
The glue will dry raised and shiny, creating a perfect border for your paint.

4. Add the Color

Once the glue is completely dry, grab your watercolors and start painting!
Fill in each section with bright, spooky colors โ orange, purple, green, and yellow all look great for Halloween.

5. Show It Off
Let your artwork dry, then hang it up where everyone can see your spooky masterpiece. The black glue makes your colors pop like stained glass!

Tips for Parents and Teachers:
- Younger kids might enjoy squeezing the glue on large, simple shapes.
- Encourage older kids to add details like stars, moons, or haunted houses.
- This project works great for classroom Halloween displays or rainy day art time at home.
Why Kids Love It
Black glue art is both sensory and creative โ kids get to squeeze, mix, and paint, all while experimenting with color and texture. And since every picture turns out unique, itโs a confidence-boosting craft for all ages.
