If you’re looking for a silly, spooky, and hands-on craft this Halloween, this pasta skeleton project is sure to make kids giggle! Using uncooked noodles, a little glue, and some imagination, kids can build their very own bony buddy — perfect for decorating the fridge or classroom wall. It’s a great mix of art, creativity, and a touch of anatomy fun!
and of course, you can turn it into a learning lesson. skull…shoulders, throat, ribs, spine, femur, tibia, humerus, Radius, fibula, hips, knee caps and even heels, fingers, and toes!
This craft is inspired by the noodle skeleton my daughter created in 2 grade.

What You’ll Need
- Black construction paper (for the background)
- Uncooked noodles (a variety works best — spaghetti, macaroni, penne, bow ties, etc.)
- White glue
- Pencil or chalk or printable down below
- Googly eyes (optional)

I have been planning this activity for awhile! Everytime we had pasta, I would use a different shape and just pull out a half cup of noodles and save it so we eneded up with a variety of fun shapes and sizes! This also makes a great Classroom activity since each box of noodles is fairly inexpensive and will go far!
How to Make Your Noodle Skeleton
1. Sketch the Skeleton Shape
Start by lightly sketching a simple skeleton outline on your black paper — just a stick figure shape will do! This will help guide where your noodles will go.
I also created a free skeleton printable you can use.

2. Build the Bones
Now it’s time to give your skeleton some structure! Use:
- Spaghetti noodles for arms, legs, and ribs
- Macaroni or penne for the spine and larger bones
- Bow tie pasta for the skull or pelvis (they look great as “bones”!)

Glue It Down
Once you’re happy with your layout, use white glue to attach each noodle piece to your paper. Let it dry completely — this will give your skeleton a cool, textured look.

Add Some Fun Details
Glue on googly eyes, draw a smile, or even add a spooky background like a moon or tombstones. Kids can get as creative (or creepy!) as they like.

Craft Tips
- Label the bones for a fun learning twist about the human skeleton.
- Spray paint the noodles white before gluing for a clean, “bone-like” look.
- Use different types of pasta to make each skeleton unique!
- Use tweezers to place the noodles. Like a game of operation!

This noodle skeleton craft is an awesome Halloween project for kids of all ages. It’s part science, part art, and 100% fun — plus it’s a great way to use up those leftover pasta pieces hiding in your pantry.
