Weeding the vinyl
Once the vinyl is cut out, take your wedding tool and remove any vinyl that is not part of the design! The United States of America is one big image so I was able to pull it off in one big sheet and just place it on my wood sign.
The wood sign has three pieces of wood so I took a knife and cut along the vinyl to make it lay perfectly flat.
Then I put transfer tape over the words and transferred that onto the wood sign board! (If you need help with transfer tape you can check out my transfer tape tutorial.
Vinyl help: If you use a stain on the wood, the vinyl can have a hard time sticking to it! Spray the boards with a clear sealant or put a layer of mod podge over it. It will help the vinyl adhere better!
I added a little red heart on Idaho (where I’m from) but that part is optional!
You could also do red and white stripes on America instead of the blue polka dots! Expressions vinyl even has fireworks patterned vinyl!
