Girl’s Camp Crafts ideas
From nature-inspired art to classic campfire activities, these crafts are fun, easy, and perfect for all ages! So even if you just need crafts for any camping trip- you are sure to find something inspiring!
First up: our personal favorite- We literally just have a bag full of embroidery floss in the camp trailer!
Friendship Bracelets!

We just throw out all the embroidery floss and the girls just make and make and make. It never gets put away! We even do threads in our hair where we wrap the embroidery floss around a little piece of hair. I have a video on 4 different ways to braid- and a video on how to create the hearts in the pattern!
Sun Prints

Grab some sun print paper (amazon has tons) and have the girls pick what they want to lay out on the paper. Once the paper is exposed–they will have to work fast-so get everything ready. Flowers, leaves, heart shaped rocks, sticks to spell stuff–lots of fun stuff from around your campground that you can use. HERE is a great how to!
Knock off Watercolor prints

This watercolor hack is so cool! The girls will have a blast –and you don’t need to be super artistic to pull it off! If you are creative, you could create some prints that go along with your camp theme! We are also doing some fun thank you cards and bookmarks!
We did these and girls made so many! We even hung up a clothesline for them to clip up their art while they dried.

It’s always Autumn has some cute printables to use this technique with as well!

Dream catchers

Diy some boho dream catchers. I loved this set up that Catch My Party has put out.
You could also bring a bunch of ribbon and strips of fabric and create these boho dream catchers!

Shrinky Dink flair

If you follow me on Instagram–You know how much I love shrinking stuff! It would be so fun to make some cute pins using shrink film! Follow along with Persia Lou’s tutorial! You can even use these printables I have provided as templates.
You would need a plug-in at your campground for the heat gun to shrink the paper!
Macrame plant holders

These are pretty easy to make! You could even take it a step further and have the girls paint their pots- and even plant a seed!
macrame keychains

You could also create macrame keychains! Very inexpensive craft project!
Pressed flower jars

This craft is GORGEOUS! This pressed flower jar is so pretty that all ages will want to make one! Add a light for a perfect little night light to set up around your camping spot!
Embroidery Hoop

Embroidery can be overwhelming–but how fun would it be to have a bunch of cute hoops all prepped with vinyl–and the girls can just embellish it with embroidery thread? If you have a theme for you camp, you could add that in here!
These cute hoops are from Sugar Bee Crafts
Leaf prints

A perfect craft for camping! Have the girls gather up leaves and then come back and create this fun craft! There are a few different options- crayons, markers or paint!
Rock photo holders

The girls can paint their rocks and then tie a wire around. You could bring a instax camera and have pictures ready to be added to their photo holders! It’s perfect for camping since rocks are already in nature! Just wire and paint!
Air Dry pots

The girls would have a blast making these cute pots–And using air dry clay means you can just leave them out to dry and then come back later to paint them! You could also do air dry magnets, earrings, coasters, etc! There are lots of fun things to make with clay!
Bookmarks

This is a two parter–decorate or design up a cute bookmark–(could go along with theme) and then make an adorable tassel or yarn pom pom to add to the top! We did pressed flowers- gather up flowers and or buy some premade ones. You can use packing tape to create the bookmarks so you don’t need to bring your laminator out in the wilderness!

Wood Slice Pictures

This tutorial has lots of fun different ways to put pictures on a wood slice! And since wood slices are from nature–it seems like a perfect fit!
arrow

These adorable arrows from 30 handmade days are so cute! Once again–you can customize it your own theme…the girl can choose their own scrapbook paper and they can even have hooks to use as a jewelry hanger!
paper fans

Girls can decorate their own paper fans to keep them cool during those hot summer days! We made these with watercolor and watercolor is a huge hit with our girls!
Jellyfish bracelets

These are such a hit! We make them almost every year! The girls love that they can set it down and come back to it! (We make these with embroidery floss not yarn!) I precut cardboard circles for all the girls so each girl has their own to board to work with.
Beaded bracelets

Keeping the bracelet theme going- we have made cute daisy bracelets! We also did morris code bracelets with our camp theme! I even a have a fun cherry technique! But you could just lay out beads and let the kids create!
Lanterns

These DIY lanterns are made of out of pop bottles. I love that they look gorgeous but you can uest them all week to decorate your tents!
Painted Book Of Mormons or Bibles
What better craft to do at a church camp them to paint bibles! You could also paint journals!
Book of Mormon painting tutorial here!

Tie Dye

This one is hard to do if you are out in the wilderness. But if you are camping in a cabin with running water and have washer and dryer- making tie-dye shirts would be so fun! You could also do this a week before camp so the girls could wear their shirts!
Fairy Lights

Buy some glow-in-the-dark paint and let the kids paint the inside of the jars! They can splatter it or paint stars and designs! I had precut some fairy silhouettes with my vinyl cutter so they could add in their own fairies or butterflies. Hang them up around the camp and the sun will activate the paint so when it get’s dark, they are like their own little night lights!
