I hate camping. the end. just kidding (kinda…but I do camp like this:
I love the chance to unplug (even though I come back to 100’s of emails and waaaaay behind in my bloglovin) and the opportunity to not wear makeup.
I just hate being dirty. and squatting.
not.a.fan. But we do it.
cause we are dumb. and we bought an awesome tent.. it literally pops up…and pops down.
and I thought I would share some of my most FAVORITE camping ideas!
like….. color scavenger hunt...
Fill the bottom of the egg cartons with all different colors and then just hand them out to the kids–the first one to find all the colors win (i WISH i had a picture of it filled up–it was so dang pretty! lots of wildflowers!)

When I go camping I throw hot dogs on a table…or a cup of noodles…basically anything that doesn’t require dishes! so WALKING TACOS are my favorite!
and we always make tin foil dinners….
(I always precook my chicken and hamburger to make it easy going….
AND i put a wet paper towel in between the layers of the tin foil. keeps everything from getting burned!!!
********
also… a new treat that i made this past camp trip was campfire eclairs!
oh man guys. (manguys?) these were AMAZING!
basically you buy biscuit dough…and your wrap it around the carved end of a stick (you want the stick about 1 inch wide) (we use the handle of our roasting sticks!) but you could use a dowel!
and roast.
and when it’s all brown and not doughy you slide it off the stick…and you squeeze in some pudding and top with frosting (buy it premade…no dishes!)
and eat. oh . heaven.
and while we are on the subject of roasting stuff…have you tried starbursts and tootsie rolls over the campfire!? they are AMAZING.

here are a few other ideas we threw around doing at our next trip
glow in the dark paint in jars
and of course…there is this fun roundup! source
and paracord bracelets would be a huge hit!!!
do you guys have any favorite things to eat or do while camping!!!?? still looking for fun ideas for this weekend! leave me a comment!!!

I love the tip about putting the wet paper towel between the layers of tin foil. I’ve never heard of that before. Does it really work? It seems like such a great idea!

Thanks for adding our Campfire Eclairs to your camping line up. And I’m so glad you made them! Aren’t they heavenly?!

Love roasted Starbursts! We just tried it on our last trip. You should try fruit snacks. It will blow you away. 😉 Also, have you seen the idea for tie-dying with magic markers? Instead of all the dyes and chemicals, you use colored magic markers and rubbing alcohol. SO easy, mess-free, and it turns out awesome!

My family has tried a slightly different version of the eclairs. We cook the dough the same, but fill it with pie filling (apple is my fav) and a dollop of whipped cream. So yummy! I have a question about the starbursts though, do you just roast them of put them on smores?

you just roast and eat….you want the starbursts to get just a little gooey..not brown or burnt!
