Looking for a fun and spooky Halloween treat for kids? These gross Halloween candy skewers are creepy, colorful, and ridiculously easy to make! Load up skewers with gummy worms, eyeball candy, taffy, and other creepy treats to create a Halloween dessert that looks gross—but tastes delicious.
I originally made candy skewers for Valentine’s Day and Easter, but these Halloween candy skewers are definitely my favorite. There is just something about turning candy into something completely disgusting for Halloween!
How to Make Halloween Candy Skewers
The best part about these Halloween candy treats is that you don’t really need a recipe. You just need some fun Halloween candy and wooden skewers.
Look for candy that is creepy, colorful, or has an unusual shape. Gummy worms, eyeballs, taffy, and other gummy candies are perfect for creating these spooky treats.Okay. I made these for Valentines day...and then Easter.
but these gross skewers are my favorite!
Most of the candy I used can be found at the dollar store, including things like gummy worms, taffy, thumbs, and the eyeball candies. You can also use whatever creepy candy you happen to find at the grocery store.
The fun is in making each skewer look a little different!
What Candy Can You Put on Halloween Skewers?
You can use almost any soft candy that will fit onto a skewer. Try making your Halloween candy kabobs with:
- Gummy worms
- Gummy eyeballs
- Gummy body parts
- Taffy
- Sour candy
- Marshmallows
- Candy pumpkins
- Candy corn
- Licorice
- Other Halloween gummies
The grosser the candy looks, the better!
Once you start thinking about all of the gross things you could put on a skewer, there are so many possibilities!
You could make a skewer that looks like a collection of eyeballs, one covered in worms, or create your own totally disgusting combination. This would also be a fun Halloween activity for kids because they can choose their own candy combinations.
Halloween Candy Skewers for a Party
These would be such a fun addition to a Halloween party, classroom party, or spooky Halloween get-together.
You can make the candy skewers ahead of time and have them ready to serve, or make the candy part of the party activity.
For a more interactive Halloween party treat, put all of the candy into bowls and let the kids create their own Halloween candy skewers.
You could even have a contest for the grossest Halloween candy skewer!
These would also make a fun Halloween classroom treat, although you’ll want to check your school’s rules about homemade treats and skewers first.
A Few More Halloween Candy Skewer Ideas
Don’t feel like you have to copy the exact skewers I made. That’s the fun of this Halloween treat!
Try making:
Eyeball Skewers: Load a skewer with different sizes of gummy eyeballs.
Worm Skewers: Add gummy worms and other green or brown candies for a creepy-crawly treat.
Monster Skewers: Use eyeballs, colorful gummies, and marshmallows to create your own candy monster.
Body Part Skewers: If you can find creepy Halloween candy shaped like fingers, thumbs, teeth, or other body parts, add them to the skewers for an extra-gross Halloween treat.

Halloween Treat Safety
One important note: wooden skewers are sharp and pointy! Please use caution when making and serving these treats.
If children are making their own candy skewers, an adult should supervise them. You can also prepare the skewers yourself and hand them out once they’re ready.
And, of course, watch those eyeballs. 😉
