Learn to make this quick and easy Candy Advent Calendar to help count down the days before Christmas or any fun event!

This calendar is one that we have been using for years! We create one right at the beginning of November with leftover Halloween candy for a perfect Christmas countdown that is very inexpensive! It’s always a great one to countdown for birthdays, treats, or any fun event. You can easily make this as many days as needed!\
Supplies to make a Candy Advent Calendar
- Favorite Candy
- Plastic wrap
- curling ribbon or bakers twine

You can make this calendar with small toys as well if you want to add some. Chapstick, dollar bills, bath bombs etc.
I also saw some red and green plastic wrap during the holiday season at the grocery store. So keep your eye out when shopping!
This particular countdown, I added on tags to keep track of what day we are on! I found the little tags at Hobby Lobby and used stickers and my embossing pens to number them. (Embossing details are here!)

How to assemble the Candy advent calendar
Step 1: Lay out plastic
Lay out the plastic wrap. It’s one continuous piece- so don’t cut it out. I pull out about 3 feet across my table. Then as I wrap, I start pulling out more plastic wrap.
Step 2: Place candy
I place a piece of candy in the section of the plastic placing them apart about 2 inches.

Step 3: Wrap up
Take one side of the plastic wrap and fold over the candy or items (hot dog style!) Then fold over the other side. The plastic wrap sticks to each other keeping the candy in place.

Step 4: Tie up
Take a piece of twine or ribbon and tie it around each section dividing the pieces of candy.

Step 5: Add a tag
This step is optional. I used little tags to tie onto the candy to keep track of your countdown! I had some cute numbered stickers that I put on the tags and then I used my embossing pen on some.
The embossing technique is so cool! The pen is sticky- so you write on it and sprinkle the embossing powder over them. Shake off any excess and then use a heat gun to activate the powder to make it set! It always turns out so cool!

Tie them on.

I also have some countdown printables you can use.

Step 6: Hang up and use
You can tape up the candy advent calendar on your door or around your Christmas tree. When you start the countdown you either cut off a piece of candy or unwrap the plastic wrap to get the candy out!

Christmas Candy Advent Calendar Adaptation
I told you that I have been making these for years! I wanted to show you one I made using a strip of tulle about 8 inches wide.
It’s the same basic technique as above- the tulle doesn’t stick to itself but if the pieces are big enough they will stay wrapped around the candy. I also bought green tulle to wrap around to tie off the candy.

I did make some countdown printables you could use to attach them to the candy garland.
