Elf is one of the most quoted Christmas movie–Because it’s just so darn great! I decided to take all my favorite quotes and items to make a Buddy the Elf Themed tree. You will love all the fun elements that make this tree magical!
Let’s talk about the elf tree. Lots of things are DIY (of course!) So you can create your very own version of the tree.
Here is the list of things I used to pull off this tree–most were found at Oriental Trading! Love that store!
- buddy the elf cardboard stand up
- set of 12 Chalkboard
- Candy Canes
- snowballs
- boom sticks
- red and white table runner
- candy cane striped table cover
- red mesh ribbon
- nutcrackers (but these are cute too!)
- rocking horse ornaments
- forest animals (raccoon)
- santa
- santa hat
- Green pom poms
- nordic ornaments
- tree skirt
- narwhal
- snowflakes
- peppermints
- etch a sketch
- snow globe (unless you have a New York City Snowglobe)
- cup (for the best coffee ever)
- cut files (down below)
Let’s jump in and talk about a few DIYS!
First up is the elf ornament! I just added vinyl to a blank flat ornament to mimic buddy’s outfit!
Narwhal! Oriental trading had a large wood one–So I had to paint him to look like the narwhal in the movie.
And all the movie quotes-! I painted the chalkboards yellow to pop from the green tree and to pull the yellow from buddies outfit.
I cut out each cut file with Expressions Vinyl white adhesive vinyl and applied them to the chalkboards.
If you don’t have a big tree–or you want to fit more on your tree- you could add these cut files to ornaments instead of chalkboards so they don’t take up as much space!
Giant Candy canes- I actually blew up some boom sticks and wrapped them with the plastic tablecloth. I just used some tape to wrap them and then stuck in the tree all around!
Spray painted some wood snowflakes white to add around the tree.
I actually hung lots of fun snowflakes in the background (Like when Buddy was getting ready for Santa) But in the end photos it was a bit too busy so I ended up hanging a white sheet over it. I also used the plastic striped sheet to cover the ground.
Added some vinyl to a mug and hung it in a tree.
Added some cotton balls (My finger has a heartbeat)
and maple syrup (of course) with some spaghettis and jelly beans (pom poms and yarn)
Cut out an arrow shape to make a cute sign.
Wrapped up
with a card from Buddy!
Tollhouse cookie dough was actually recalled when I was taking photos–but I wanted to get a package and save the wrapper and stuff it with stuffing to hang on the tree!
You guys! I love this tree so much!
THe giant buddy the elf standup really makes the whole tree in my opinion!
You can grab all these cut files here!
You could totally put all these cute saying on white blank ornaments as well!
