Looking for a festive and easy Halloween craft that’s perfect for kids? This Candy Corn Garland made with a sponge stamps is bright, cheerful, and full of Halloween charm! With just a few supplies, you can create a garland that looks sweet enough to eat—no candy required.

This project is simple enough for little hands, and it makes adorable décor for classrooms, mantels, or party tables.
What You’ll Need:
- A clean sponge (rectangular) or a magic eraser
- Scissors
- Orange, yellow, and white paint (I used acrylic because that is what I had- but washable paint works well too)
- Paintbrushes and paper plate for the paint
- White or colored cardstock
- String, ribbon, or twine
I didn’t have a sponge on hand, so I used a magic eraser. It worked great! You could use both for a couple of different textures!

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create Your Candy Corn Stamp
Cut your sponge into a triangle shape—just like a piece of candy corn! You can trim the corners to give it that soft, rounded look.

2. Add the Paint
On a paper plate, pour a little of each paint color: orange, yellow, and white.
Using a paintbrush, spread out the paint to cover an area big enough for the sponge.
- Top: White
- Middle: Orange
- Bottom: Yellow
This gives your candy corn that classic layered look!

3. Stamp It Out
Press your sponge into the paint. It does absorb the paint a little bit so you might have to be generous with the paint.

Place your painted sponge onto your cardstock or construction paper. Press firmly.

Lift straight up to reveal your candy corn print!

Repeat until you have enough candy corns for your garland. You can reapply paint every few stamps to keep the colors bright.
4. Cut
Once your candy corn prints are dry, cut them out carefully.

5. String Your Garland
Take your twine, ribbon, or yarn and tape them to the back of each candy corn print making sure to space it evenly. You could even string up wooden beads between each one.

6. Hang and Enjoy!
Display your candy corn garland across a mantel, doorway, or window for a pop of Halloween color that’s spooky and festive.

Craft Tips & Ideas:
- Add glitter while the paint is wet for a sparkly twist. ✨
- Instead of cardstock, try stamping on felt for a soft, textured garland.
- Make mini candy corn tags for treat bags or party favors using the same stamping technique!
- Cut your sponges into a spider shape, a bat shape, or a pumpkin shape to create more fun themed garlands.
