Grab these free Ice cream cone wrappers for a fun coloring activity to kick off summer in style!
School is out for summer TOMORROW! (Where did the school year go!?) and nothing kicks off summer more than Ice cream cones! We took the kids to the store, let them pick their favorite ice cream, and then had them color their own unique ice cream cone!
Supplies you need to make the best ice cream cone
- Ice cream cones
- Smucker’s Magic Shell Chocolate Fudge Flavored Topping
- Blue Bunny® ice cream in your favorite flavor (good luck picking a favorite! They were all yummy!)
- Ice cream cone wrappers (printable below)
Make sure to grab the Smucker’s Magic Shell Chocolate Fudge and Chocolate Flavored Topping (it creates a hard shell when it gets cold. It is our FAVORITE ice cream topper!) But you can’t really use it on ice cream cones because you can’t really pour it on top of the ice cream cone without it dripping off…so are you ready for an awesome ice cream cone hack!?
Shake Smucker’s Magic Shell chocolate topping well…and pour into a little bowl.
Beforehand, I place the cones in the freezer for about an hour. Then I spooned in Smucker’s Magic Shell Chocolate Topping. I coated all the sides and poured any extra back into the bowl. And repeat for each cone!
Then place it back in the freezer until you are ready to add ice cream!
Ice Cream cone wrappers
And while they get hard….it’s time to make the ice cream cone wrappers! (To keep your fingers from freezing!)
I made some coloring printables. The printables are down below! Just print out and color! (I even left a blank one for you and your kiddos to create your own!)
Printing them out
If you are looking for a great printer to use – I love my HP! I wrote up a whole post why The reasons I love the printer. This post also shows how you can make sure you are getting the best prints by adjusting your settings!
Coloring the wrappers
You can use colored pencils, Crayons, or markers to decorate these wraps! Whatever you prefer!
I got this Scotch Laminator for Christmas a few years ago and I love it! If you laminate the wrappers you could reuse them every time you have an ice cream cone!
Glue the printable on.
Tape or glue around the cone. If you are laminating them, you can hot glue them to keep them in the perfect cone shape. But if you are throwing them away after you eat your cone, you can just add a little tape to hold them together!!
If are having a summer party or an ice cream social, this would be such a fun activity! Have everyone color their own ice cream cone wrappers and just slip them on their cones!
This flower wrapper is my favorite!
