If you are regular reader of this blog…than you are awesome. and you know my woes of my house. Since it’s my first real house…I have to really decorate it…and I overthink and stress and then hate everything I do.
it’s been real fun.
i literally lay in bed and plan out crap in my head and have a BRILLIANT (to me) idea…and buy all the stuff for it…and by the time I receive it in the mail…I’ve already changed my mind. And my master bedroom is a huge problem. I’ve literally bought fabric four times..and don’t like it once it’s here.
(and that is why I don’t let my husband know my paypal password.)
But I think i’m finally on track with my master bedroom…. (you can go here to see the before and my thought process) but here is my color scheme i’ve picked out (don’t hold me to this though!!)
But here’s my problem…I have this like GIANT wall…(I seem to have one in every major room in my house!)
I’m throwing up some big board and batten like this:
but then I get stuck….how to decorate it…..
so I’m turning to my decorating gurus…YOU!
My idea is to showcase my favoritest of our family pictures….so should I ………
find some vintagey goodness….
diy some fun frames and add the dates…
clip them up…
keep it simple and all aligned…
Get some rustic wood and use it frame it out…
or fabric backingsource
hang with some fun chain…
stencil out a border
rustic frames with old wood…source
I love everything about this…
or this idea on a large scale…
or some gorgeous cut it out frames
alright–hit me…what’s your favorite? or something I haven’t posted? leave me comments!!!
My personal opinion. But I believe your fifth pick would look best with your inspiration board. You have so many that I think you might be over thinking it. When it gets to that point, go with your first love (instinct). You will always find a way back to it some how. 🙂 can’t wait to see it all come together.
OMG!!! They are all AWESOME! I’m a huge fan of burlap so I vote on that one. I’ve been reading your blog for years so I know whatever you do will be beautiful. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what happens! Thanks so much for sharing!
Some great ideas! I love the pictures hanging from knobs, here’s a variation on that where the frames overlap just a bit: http://www.houzz.com/photos/5825222/sophisticated-mountain-home-traditional-basement-minneapolis
(plus the light fixture is amazing)
Good luck, it’ll be awesome!

I would love to see you use a stencil that matches your bed skirt on that wall in some way. I see why you are having a difficult time choosing…awesome ideas!!
fabric backing – all though all of them are great ideas!

I love anything with old/rustic/worn wood. You can do just a few with the rustic backing, maybe a few with a rustic frame, a few sans-frame…and all on a large scale, nothing smaller than 8×10 on a wall like that!

I like the last clipboard idea, but bigger. I LOVE change, so for me, stenciling is more of a permanent thing and the clip boards can be used all the time.. you could change the color, but wouldn’be have to redo the whole wall.. BUT you have some great ideas! I too like the dates on the frames. You’ve got a big choice. But in the end, you’ll pick one that will look great, you always do.
Given that you’re putting up the board and batten, I would align the pictures above it, in one line, in matching frame but possibly jazz them up with some fabric backgrounds to add in some color. Then I would do some large letter design above the pictures that represents the first letter in your last name – use the space and shape of the wall to your advantage.
