one of my most popular posts on this blog is my fingerprint pendants...
They are made from sculpey. I totally 100 % love this stuff. I feel like it’s playdoh for grown ups. it’s respectable to play with it!. And it’s cheap! So I’ve come up with 5 fun ways to have your kids make a personalized mother’s day presents…and all you need is some blocks of sculpey (or they have kits that have all the main colors!!)
(i buy mine at joanns…you can use a coupon. it makes it like less than $2…and it goes pretty far!)
also..before we get started….I have a separate pan that i bake it in (you bake it for like 20 minutes at 275…but the directions are on the package so make sure to read them) You don’t want it on your food pans (you can buy a baking pan at dollar store)

first up: KEYCHAINS!
My daughter went to town on this pink sculpey! (it’s actually for her grandma…you can see by the stamp)
Stamps are AWESOME…you can have a lot of fun with them! (as well as cookie cutters!)
make sure to make a hole big enough for a keychain before you bake (bought this package for two dollars at walmart)
this is my daughters other creation for her other grandma. i tried to get her to stamp grandma…but she insisted on doing her name.. an intial..
and of course you can do a fingerprint!

MAGNETS
next…make some magnets.
(they were cookie cutters that she used to cut out and then decorate!)
then i just hot glued a magnet on back!!!

MINI VASE
my kids come home from school…and they always have a little bouquet of flowers they find on the way home…
and i realized….this wasn’t working…
measuring cup is not a good vase…
it’s so cute and my kids loving keeping it filled
this is silver sculpey…the cute little heart has my daughters fingerprint and the small circle has her initial made with a stamp.
just added a jump ring and a chain. (smaller is better when it comes to necklaces!!)
RING HOLDER
i loved this idea posted HERE by kim at 733
I’m always taking my wedding ring off in the kitchen when i’m kneading dough..or mixing stuff with my hands…or washing dishes.
so this cute little dish is perfect to plop your ring in so it doesn’t get lost!
i started with a circle. cut out a heart and added a different color heart and then rolled it out a little more to really adhere the heart to the circle. then i added a roll of sculpey around the edge to make the bowl shape…
i keep it right by the sink! (my husband uses it too…he doesn’t wear his ring to the gym so he slips it in the bowl)
remember…after you bake it, you can spray paint if it’s not the right color…or i like to spray mine with high gloss for a sheen.
and you can add glaze in the cracks to make it pop.
and make sure to get a sharpie and have your kids write their names on the back.
so go take your kids to a craft store…have them pick out a few blocks of sculpey and get them creating!!!

These are all awesome! I love how you made your ring dish too – that little roll on the bottom is kind of genius.
