but apparently we don’t always love to put the caps securely on.
which results in dried up markers.
but the other day (purely by accident.) i noticed that if you dip dried up markers in water they had a burst of color
so we turned it into a little easter craft.
just dip in like a paintbrush and color away. It gives a little water color paint effect to the pictures
A. don’t leave them in the water cause the color will all soak out into the water.
B. one time use! these markers were on their last leg and had just enough ink to do these last few pictures!
(another craft tip: save those weird plastic cups your kids get at restaurants! they make great water cups for your paintbrushes!
here’s our finished products:
(I put the negative space of an easter egg on the paper (with transfer tape) and let her color. and then peeled it off after it dried.

One other way to save markers if you have ink bottles is to pull out the tip and add ink drops to the marker until it’s juicy again. 🙂
that’s AWESOME! thanks for the tip!
What brand of transfer paper do you use? I’ve so far bought three different kinds, but they’re SOO sticky, that the vinyl, paper (etc) will not come off easily, and turn a 2 minute project into a half hour.
Thanks!! Love the blog =)
this is the brand i use: http://www.expressionsvinyl.com/6x100yrd-Paper-Transfer-Tape_p_1150.html
Thank you very much! I’ll have to add it on when I put my next order in =)
What a great idea! I have so many pens without lids… Ace. Thanks for sharing.
