it’s so pretty…and wrong all in one KAbang! i decided to keep the pink…and the lace…and the basic(y) shape of the back….
i posted this picture on instagram (agirlandagluegun if you want to follow me!!!!)
and everyone thought it looked like Pretty in pink
let me tell you. I watch this show..and she takes the dress and picks it apart and starts sewing….and every.stinking.time I hope it’s a different outcome. i just don’t love it.
but i do love my ugly vintage pattern/pretty in pink knock off….
this cute girl won’t wear jeans…only leggings…so i’m always looking for long tunic type shirts for her. (i will probably have her wear her tank top underneath…but we were trying to keep it as close to the awesome (ahem cough ahem) pattern.
here’s the front view…
AND just cause they are soooooo fun to look at……
this one is my next favorite……

That “90 Minute Fashion” pattern at the bottom of the post. Ouch. I feel sorry for the model. But nice job doing something different with your inspiration. I love the fact that the original pattern looks vaguely Edwardian. I’m never sure what they were thinking when it comes to ruffles. Wouldn’t it be uncomfortable to sit down, or were women just supposed to lounge gracefully against the wall?

Same same on andi’s dress! Especially since she RUINS the cute dress Annie Potts gives her. Love the redux for your kiddo.

Ok…earlier this year I finally let go of a lifetime of patterns I have been hording. Give me a break, I was a costume designer. I am proud to say I had 7 of the patterns in the picture and made 5 of them for – not a show – but for me! AND I thought I was a fashionesta. I am so glad I grew up! and am happy to say both the patterns and the clothes are long gone! Thanks for the trip down memory lane. hehe

I feel the same way about the Pretty in Pink dress. Why? she was so good at dressing adorable and then that? Also she should have stuck with Ducky. That shirt is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cooler than Andie’s prom dress. Lovely job.
Suz says
Oh gee you did well!!! What a challenge!! your daughter looks gorgeous in her pretty in pink top!!
Bonnie MS says
Oh my I love that tunic! Is it just me or isn’t that a perfect way to do a modest lace for a teen? I don’t have one yet but I love your pattern and the remix 🙂
