today i’m putting my scrap busting to a good cause!
I’m making 3 skirts for simple simon and co’s skirting the issue!
(you can go HERE to read more about it–but basically it’s donating skirts to local foster care! Skirts are so easy a great beginner sewing project!!!)
I went to Joann and got a whole bunch of fabric (i only bought 6 inches of each one except for 2! (the main parts of two of those skirts)
Here’s three fun ways to use of scraps–
the big strips:
these are 5 inch strips sewn together…I left a slit on both sides so they had room to run and play….I totally wanted to make this into a pencil skirt….(or even a long maxi) but since I’m giving them away to –i wanted them to be able to fit a variety of girls!
next up…similar…but smaller strips around the bottom…
each skirt is a basic box shape…with the waist cinched in with elastic!
and last…even smaller strips…sewn together quilt style..
this one is my favorite…..I was very tempted to toss the elastic…sew up the bottom and add some straps for a new bag for me!!!
notice her knee….she scrapped it doing this…
love these sweet models of mine!
made the son jump in to get a new facebook cover photo…
he was less than thrilled. but i let him eat an otter pop so he was happy (#easytobribe)
so there you go…three skirts that you can make to help diminish your stash pile!!! which one is your favorite?

I don’t have a favorite, they are all adorable. I am thinking of making 2 of each, 1 to donate and one for my skirt freak 🙂

I love them all so cute but the middle one is my fave.
