I thought before we get any further into jan…i would show you a couple random christmas presents….
diy of course.
we didn’t get all hog crazy like last year–(we (sisters) took pity on ourselves and said no to homemade this year)
but Monday before christmas me and the kids were all sitting around.  you know how it gets…like the excitement is going to kill ya! longest 48 hours  ever–
so i decided that we as kids (okay kids and mom) would make homemade gifts for each other– splitting up of course. everyone took turns pow-wowing. Â oldest with middle. middle with youngest. Â youngest with oldest. Â i helped if they needed it…but they really did awesome at brainstorming! lots of fun ideas and they were so excited!!!
first up: the oldest and youngest  made this for the middle child (boy)
superhero masks from felt.
we found a few pictures on pinterest…and i drew a template of a basic mask and pulled out my felt stash and gave them some scissors.
my 5 year old made lots of “confetti” but she totally loved it. She actually cut the hair for the hulk.
i had my daughter help me hot glue all the pieces together
he FLIPPED!!! totally loves them!
and she does too…
second up:
eldest and middle pow wowed for youngest….
(she’s obsessed with stuffed animals)
so they came up with an puppy house.
it’s just a box covered in duct tape laminate
the sewed a bed and a pillow. my daughter made a hot glue felt rug (that doubles as a blanket) they made a “tv” with chalkboard vinyl and a picture frame…
they painted the inside polka dots
and even curtains that work!Â
okay…the hardest for last.
the two youngers for the older.
she’s hard. and picky.
and doesn’t play with toys anymore.
but we came up with making her scarves…and we stamped fun things on them…
just took some fabric that i have hoardered…
and made some stencils with fun foam and glued them onto wood…. just dipped in paint and stamp…
she liked them a lot….
totally a fun christmas! they all wrapped them up and got to open them on christmas eve~ it’s probably a tradition i will carry on next year!!!!

All fantastic ideas! My little guy would love those masks! There is nothing that gets the creative juices flowing like a cardboard box. The stamped scarves are making me go through my fabric stash – what a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
