A few months ago–I headed to Colorado to hang out with my sister and niece in their new house. And while we were there…we did a little decorating. (cause new house -blank walls equals my dream)
My favorite thing to decorate is little girl’s rooms! They are always so cute and fun! My niece had lots of adorable stuff in her room–So all we ended up doing is a fun colorful striped wall along the two walls!
We agreed that this cute hopscotch rug was just the cutest and decided to base the colors off it. We literally rolled it up and took it to home depot and color matched it right there with all those paint samples!
The colors we chose are
- Pink Damask
- Sunkissed Apricot
- Jackfruit
- Healing Aloe
- MQ6-38
We are visual people–so we sketched out how far apart we wanted everything. I think we went with 3 inch wide stripes with 1/4 inch in between.
We measured down from the ceiling and taped it off.
We added a white stripe of white paint–it would have looked cute with just the colors on her gray wall!
A. We had some maker paint seepage under the tape. We should have taken the gray wall paint and go over the tape with it first–(or if you don’t have the original wall color you can use mod podge)
After it dried–we add the next set up paint tape-the 1st, 3rd, 5th stripes.
After that dried–taped off for the last two stripes. We actually were wallpaper her living room and bathroom in between drying times–because nobody likes watching paint dry.
After it all dried–we pulled off the tape (most satisfying thing ever) and touched up and hung all the cute decor!
The giant glasses are from Jane.com (but they aren’t available right now)
The black grid is from Amazon (lots of different sizes, finishes, and accessories.
The swan is from Target and the book shelf is from Home Goods
Cute little sign from Hobby Lobby
Mirror is from Hobby Lobby (last year)
This adorable abc sign is from Hobby Lobby and if you notice her bean bag–it’s full of all her stuffed animals.
I can’t get over how much fun this room is!! Love my cute niece!
