Head to the thrift store and snag some items so you can pull off these cute Hat Box upcycle projects!
I got sent a package from the Desert Industries. A fun upcycle challenge with whatever was in the box! AND in the box was a set of three hat boxes!
I had so many ideas of fun things to do with them as a set- a set of shelves, a cute stacked pumpkin for your fall porch, or turn them into a cake stand! But instead I opted to show you 3 fun different ideas on what to do if you stumble upon a set of hat boxes at the D.I.!
Largest Hat Box: Floral Door Hanger
I used the biggest hat box for this project. I cut apart the lid and Spray painted it to give it a galvanized tin look. Added some styrofoam so I could add flowers easily. I can swap out for each season if I wanted! Drilled holes on the side to run a ribbon through and hung it up on my front porch!
You can easily add some fun vinyl to the front and swap out ribbon and flowers.
Medium Hat Box: Art kit
This cute hat box puts the fun in functional!
This art kit is perfect if you are doing online schooling. All your supplies in one cute box! I drilled holes into lid to make it look like a button (totally optional) Painted the box to match my daughter’s room. Next, make some inserts out of foam core board to slid inside the box to keep the art supplies apart
I filled it with markers, tape, colored pencils, glue, scissors, hole punch, washi tape- anything you might need to do a fun art project!
Smallest Box: Frankenstein
These little guy is one of my favorites! So cute! Paint him green, Glued on some button eyes and some black hair on the inside of the lid. Then I created some little bolts to stick out his neck! You could find some round objects at your local Deseret Industries you could use as bolts- just spray paint them and hot glue them on!
I also thought you could make an adorable snowman- Stack all three hat boxes and spray paint white and make the cutest winter decoration!
Those are my 3 projects! And I have a few more ideas on what to do with hat boxes- So I think I need to go thrifting at the Desert Industries to see if I can score another set!
