We’ve been slowly doing sewing lessons for my kids. (cause you are never too young)
anyways…we decided to come up with a craft they could make…an easy sewing tutorial….
not really embroidered….but made to look like it!
Start by making a square of fabric…I just bought a yard of white…(but you can buy handkerchiefs for pretty cheap at walmart)
I folded over the edge, the folded over it again and ironed and pinned into place
Then I let the kids pick from all the pretty patterned stitches on my sewing machine…and they just cruised around it…
some are a bit wonky…which is still kinda fun!
my daughter ended up making a peace sign right in the middle…
the girls loved making them… and I thought they would be a cool present for fathers day if your man is the handkerchief wearing type!

This is a great idea to introduce sewing. I remember being so afraid of the machine. it is actually pretty easy once you get past the fear. I wondered how to get my kids started. they are getting curious…..and old enough to “touch” my machine. 🙂 THANKS!
