I’ve had this idea brewing in my head for months. I actually got some printed before Thanksgiving. But with the hustle and bustle of the holidays I never got around to taking photos! I’m so excited to show you how to print coloring pages HUGE! (All these coloring pages sources can be found HERE)
Engineering prints can only be done in black and white-which is PERFECT for coloring pages. They are on thin paper(just like computer paper) and you can print them BIG for CHEAP! My staples prints out in 3 different sizes!
I mean…how cute would this 4 foot owl be all colored!? Cut it out and you have amazing piece of art of any room!
And here’s the how to!
Head over to staples.com…
Click shop by category
push copy and print and then engineering prints!
Prices are pretty cheap
the 18×24 is $1.79
the 24 x 36 is $3.59
the 30 x 42 is $5.29
the 36 x 48 is $7.29
This is the 24×36
and this is the 36×48–TOTALLY HUGE!
(Make sure when you are printing large scale that the quality is good! The lines can start getting distorted when blown up!)
After you push begin you have to login and have to click oversized prints and then engineering prints in black and white! You will upload your photos from your computer and pick sizesEach image will be unique. You will need to click on media and select sizes and make sure to fit to content to make it as big as possible….you might need to click orientation and make it landscape or portrait!
and then send to Staples. You can pick up in store or have them mailed to you!
Mine are almost always ready within 24 hours! (sometimes even the same day!)
They would be so cute as a present…print off a few, roll up with a cute ribbon and add some colored pencils or markers!
Throw them out on a table at any get together!
Remember head here for some fun free printables!
I also have a pinterest board HERE #obsessedmuch
and just because it’s awesome…my friend mandy did a picture using the engineering prints:

what a brilliant idea! This would make a great gift for my daughter’s tween friends. Pinning for the next birthday party invite. Thanks.

Love this! I am obsessed with engineering prints too. Everything I see I think, “Hmmm, could that be a giant print?” I’m nervous that Staples is going to catch on and up the price. 🙂 The mom of one of my daughter’s friends asked me to do a crafty birthday party for her tomorrow, and I just did a huge coloring page for that. I’m going to leave it on the table for the girls to color when they arrive. I attached balsa wood dowels to the top and bottom, and added eye screws to the top dowel so the birthday girl can hang it in her room when the party is over. I absolutely love the idea of giving it as a gift with markers or pencils. Thanks for the awesome idea!

Thank you SO much for this post! I am a High School librarian and wanted to create a Community Coloring area in my library. My first attempt (using butcher paper and an overhead projector!) was ok, but not what I wanted. I ordered a few prints from my local Staples and they are PERFECT! The kids LOVE them! Thanks again!

This was incredibly helpful. We don’t have a Staples and I did not know you could order large prints. Thank you!

Thank you!!! I’ve been wondering how to do this! I want to hang some in my office. Can you tell me where you got the “heart flowers” coloring page. It’s the one that is 18×24.

Thanks so much! I’ve been looking for these for my library and was disappointed at printing prices, so this will fit my budget and plan! I can’t wait to do this.
