A little while ago, we got the chance to take a break from our hectic schedule and catch SING in theaters. IT WAS SO CUTE! It easily shot up to becoming one of my favorite cartoons! The music is so fun with songs we knew and could sing along to–and each character is so cute with their own personalities! (I love that gorilla!) Ever since we watched it, we have patiently waited for it to come out on Blu-ray and Digital HD ! It finally hit stores and we snatched it up! It has been playing all week long for our spring break!
After watching it for the 6th time…It thought it would make the PERFECT party theme! SING follows the journey of Buster Moon and his attempt to save the theater that has fallen on hard times that he has worked all his life to run. In attempt to save his crumbling theater, Moon creates what he believes is the world’s greatest singing competition. He picks 5 characters to perform!
Think how fun a Karaoke party would be with Watching SING for the finale! Tape up a fun backdrop (Mine are actually two red plastic tablecloths taped to the wall), and some Gold sing balloons, and of course an added element of fun…GIANT microphones! How fun would these be all over the house or on your front porch so the kids know where the part is at! OR use them for a fun photo prop!
And they are super easy to make!
Here is what you need:
- Black cardstock
- black balloons
- tape or glue
- string
Take one piece of cardstock and add glue along one edge.
Glue to the other side forming a tube. Blow up balloon –these balloons are blown up about half way so they were proportionate with the tube.
Then I tied a string on each balloon and put the string down the tube and taped it into place. This keeps the balloon nice and snug!
Then let the kids pick their favorite song and crank it up!
