- Easy to customize and be creative with.

Supplies Needed
To make your giant foam envelope Valentine door hanger, you’ll need:
- Large 12×18 foam sheets (pink, red, white)
- Scissors
- Glue or low temp hot glue (adult supervision recommended)
- Embroidery floss
- Ribbon or twine for hanging
- Foam stickers, paper hearts, or embellishments
Hobby Lobby had so many cute heart options in lots of sizes, even glittery ones!

You can easily use felt instead of the foam. I wanted to make mine more weatherproof since it’s going on my front porch.
How to Make a Giant Foam Envelope Door Hanger
Step 1: Create the Envelope Shape
Start with a large rectangular foam sheet. This will be the base of your envelope. Cut out your envelope shapes. I just used the size of the foam, so my envelope is about 12 inches wide by 9 inches tall.
I created 3 envelopes. One back (a rectangle) One front (a rectangle) and an actual envelope with a pocket. I created this guide to help you to show you how I cut them out. (You will also need this guide when you add the stitches).

If you want the back of the envelope to be more 3-D looking, you can cut the A shape and fold over the top and stitch the top closed to create the flap.
I marked the center and drew some lines and cut out the shapes I needed.

Step 2: Stitch
I used red embroidery floss and a needle with a large eye to add some stitching along the edges and to create the envelope lines. (see the images above to figure out where to put your stitching.) This step is optional but I think it adds so much!

The stitching was the most time consuming, so if you don’t want to spend the time doing it, you could draw lines with a red sharpie, paint with acrylic paint, or even use puff paint for some dimension (although you will have to wait for it to dry!)

Step 3: Decorate Your Valentine Envelope
Now for the fun part! Decorate the envelope using foam hearts, stickers, or cut-out shapes.

I glued some paper onto wood hearts, made a bow with ribbon, and cut out a stamp for the envelope.

You can also personalize it with names, classroom numbers, or sweet love notes.

I even hand painted some design elements like the special delivery!

Step 4: Assemble wreath
I had a few wreath options that I grabbed when I was at Hobby Lobby, like this wood one and a green one. Frankly, no matter what you use, it will still look darling.

I ended up wanting to use all 3 envelopes so a round wreath wasn’t working. Instead, I opted for a thick piece of 12×18 foam that I grabbed when I was buying the foam for my envelopes.
I just started laying everything out on my table and once I had the general arrangement, I started gluing.

If you want to use hot glue, make sure it’s low-temp. The hot will melt the foam!

Step 4: Add a Hanger
Punch two holes at the top of the back piece of foam and thread ribbon, twine, or a zip-tie through. Tie it securely, and your Valentine’s Day door hanger is ready to display! I added some extra pieces of foam to reinforce any heavy parts.

The foam makes this wreath really lightweight!
Hang up and enjoy the cutest Valentines door decoration ever!
