and i ain’t a liar!
I promise you this guys….If you eat this one time..you will not be able to go back to regular syrup!!!
We went up to my mom’s house and she fed it to us! life changing. LIFE. CHANGING.
I half this recipe and it feeds me and my three kids!
when adding the last two ingredients the syrup foams up…so make sure your pot is big enough or in the sink!
then add over pancakes…or french toast..or crepes. or waffles. or heck..stick a straw in it and just drink it.
P.S….this would be AMAZING on fried french toast! Have you tried it? IT’s worth the calories!

Does this save or do you need to eat it all at that sitting? It looks divine.
Kimbo says
it saves!!! I would use it within a week..but we just pop in microwave and warm it up and pour over!!
Stacy says
we’ve also put it on ice cream. and eaten it off the spoon. i’m with you, it is so delicious. it does make regular syrup seem so plain.

I’m going to have to try this out! I hate maple syrup and always have to buy Blackberry syrup (or something similar)…this would be great to add to my list of syrups I’ll eat!! Thank you!!!
Tabitha B. says
I made this with half the butter (by accident ) and almond milk since dairy doesn’t agree with my nursing baby. Yummo!! Definitely will make again.
Jacquie says
Oh yes! My mom has made this syrup for YEARS, and I now make it ALL the time. My kids don’t like regular syrup anymore!
Trulaine says
Can I have the pancake recipe?
Kimbo says
Just a Bisquick mix from the grocery store!
Kimberly says
Oh. My. Glob. This was amazing!! I halved the recipe for my three littles and myself – we ate almost all of it. Okay, okay, we might have drank it. Thank you for this amazing recipe! I’m off to spread the word!
Christy says
I made a big pancake dinner while we were snowed in at the house only to discover that we were out of syrup!!! So pinterest to the rescue and I found this recipe…. OH MY! It is so amazingly good! Why would I ever want anything else now, I have eaten way too much food and could not be happier.
Magalie says
I made this with my step daughter for Christmas breakfast last year and it changed my life! My daughter got so many compliments for the flavor of this syrup, i would put this on any sweet baked good. Whooooooo! Thank you and God bless!
Carolyn says
I make the same recipe for syrup but I do 1 cup of sugar and not 2. It still tastes divine! Just trying to save the amount of sugar.
Nancy says
Could this be made w/sugar substitute such as Stevia?
Kimbo says
I’m not sure! I would think it would work! If you try it let me know!
Natalie says
No joke. This is the best syrup ever. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve made this since discovering this recipe. Divine!
Kavia says
I want to make this but don’t have the baking soda on hand. Is it a necessary item? Or could I go without it?
Kimbo says
I’m not sure! I’ve never tried it without it!
Tess says
Where has this been all my life?! Incredible! Regular syrup won’t cut it anymore. I used organic sugar whose color has a slightly darker color than plain granulated sugar, My syrup resulted in a darker color than the one depicted. I unashamedly confess I consumed much of it on things other than pancakes; ice cream, graham cracker, a spoon.
Denise Price says
This is the best syrup I’ve ever tasted! I can’t go back to store bought syrup.
Randy Sheppard says
I actually use this recipe all the time for a glaze I put on cakes before I frost them. I use different flavors for the type cake I’m doing but it make them amazingly moist! poke some holes in the cake layer and pour the hot mixture over them and brush it around evenly. YUM!!!
Jane says
We have used this recipe for years, kids don’t like anything else. The longer you cook the darker and thinker it gets, I normally bring to a boil than cook 5 to 7 minutes on low. Also you don’t have to use buttermilk, any milk is good. 😃
Isaac says
Bisquick? I’ve never seen Bisquick pancakes that looked like that! You must’ve really mastered the recipe.
Tina says
I made this with brown sugar this morning, it smells and taste like toasted marshmallows…ooooh sooo yummy everyone loved it.
Kimbo says
sounds DELISH!
