I can’t wait until Christmas! I have been making so many fun cut files- Todays is perfect for a fun sign or sweater- and it’s even more perfect when you use some patterned vinyl from Expressions Vinyl!
The vinyl I used is from the Expressions Vinyl mystery box! Isn’t it so good?! (rhetorical question because I know the answer is yes) It’s filled with all the things you need to make the cutest Christmas projects (and fall projects!)
Supplies for Christmas sweater (or banner
- Heat transfer vinyl
- easypress
- multi-use paper
- Cutter (I use a silhouette cameo but a Cricut works too!)
- Cut file (down below)
I cut out the vinyl and weeded away the excess that’s not part of the design!
Since I’m layering the big Christmas tree on top of the green trees–I had to do a two step press. First press looked like this. (Notice that all the vinyl is on the sweatshirt. There is no carrier sheet underneath. You can see the merry Christmas is on top of the green carrier sheet…but the words are not.
Press. Just long enough to adhere it to the fabric.
I pulled off the carrier sheet and applied the top layer.
I don’t want the iron to touch any exposed vinyl so I covered it up with a multi use paper to protect it. Then press for 15 seconds. Expressions Vinyl actually has a guide so you know how long to press and what temperature!
Then peel off that finally carrier sheet and you have created your own custom shirt!
This cut file comes as three Christmas trees or just one big one:
