Usually, each year i buy my kids a candy calendar that has a piece of chocolate to countdown the days before christmas…
but this year i thought i would make my own! (and the store that sold them went out of business)
(you could also use smaller jars and do personalized for each kid!)
Then i added cute fabric on top…and even spray painted the jar with sparkles
the possibilities are really endless! you could add a package of oreos or cookies…or whatever is your favorite christmas treat!
now my kids are ready to do a proper countdown until christmas!!!!
here’s some of my other advent ideas
1. painted advent wall hanging
2. 24 christmas stories
3. activities to do this christmas season

Very cute, but as soon as I saw your Christmas stories, I remembered that I cried many of those days some of those stories had me bawling like a baby. I think my little ones might be old enough to do that one this year.

I actually copied your idea last year, starting with the 24 pieces of candy until Christmas. That carried over into January, and now has become a reward system for my kids. They get one piece of candy a day from their “Sweet Treats” container after coming home from school and completing homework. If they try a new food at school, or do extra well in school, they can get an extra piece. If they get in trouble at school, they lose their piece for the day. It’s funny how the simplest things work! So let me give you a year late Thank You! for the idea!

Cute idea and not too difficult. You just have to keep the kiddos out of the candy!!
