Printing out the turkey
If you are looking for a great printer to use – I love my HP! I wrote up a whole post why The reasons I love the printer. This post also shows how you can make sure you are getting the best prints by adjusting your settings!
IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PRINTER: You can also upload the files to staples or office max and have them print them! Sometimes the local library has a printer for public use!
Cutting out the turkey
There are two ways to do this! You can cut out the feathers beforehand and color each individually- or leave them as a sheet and color them all at once! This will make more sense as you continue reading!

Knock off watercolor
The technique we are using is the knock off watercolor one! I’ts such a fun kids’ craft project! This time we are using Tin foil instead of plastic baggies! They both worked really well so you can be the judge on what one you want to use!
Step 1: Roll out the Tin Foil big enough to cover your space.
Step 2: Take your Washable markers and color designs in whatever color or patterns your creative heart desires.
You might want to try on a scrap paper to see what color combinations look good together!

Step 3: Spritz lightly with water from your spray bottle.
You don’t want it dripping with water, but you want it wet enough to help spread the colors.

Step 4: Lay the feathers face down over the colors and press it down.
I like to press from the middle and push out so the color comes out from around the edges.

Step 5: Lift up the feathers and lay face up until they are dry.
They don’t take too long to dry!

Step 6: Wipe off any leftover marker with a paper towel and repeat with all feathers and you can even use the same technique with the turkey!

OPTIONAL TECHNIQUE: Depending on age and skill levels, you might opt to have the kids color a big section of the tin foil and put the full sheet of feathers down over the colors. After it dries, you cut out the feathers. If you are doing this in a classroom setting, this might be easy so the kids can keep track of what feathers are theirs!

Coloring in the details
Once everything is dry, you can go in and color in the turkey or even doodle on the feathers and make some cool designs with them!

Attaching the feathers to the turkey:
Once everything is ready, I flip the turkey over and add some glue on the back. Press the feathers on where you want them!

After it’s assembled, you have the cutest little turkey to display all of Thanksgiving!
