This month’s Make it: Fun® Crafts theme was to create something new for our home decor–and We got sent
Floracraft® Make it: Fun® Foam Sheets: (they come in 1/2, 1″ and 2″ thick sheets)
and a Floracraft® Styrocutter® Plus
With these two things–I feel like I could create anything! so many ideas! So instead of doing one…I thought I would show you 4 fun things you can make!
Each thing is made the same basic way– The Floracraft® Styrocutter® Plus heats up and melts through the Make it: Fun® Foam Sheets like butter! So easy to use!
First up: Make a frame!I use a sharpie to outline a design and then cut it out.
I used a Shaper to get grooves into the foam
Then cover with smooth finish and let dry!
You can see the smooth finish seals the holes and make it paintable!
Make sure to sand to get it nice and smooth (I actually do two layers of smooth finish!)
Then paint! You can make any fun shaped frame–or a custom size!
I, of course, chose to make a FRIENDS frame! It hangs on my garage door!
I literally pull into my garage and sing, “I’ll be there for you…CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP”
Here’s me…watching friends…with my friends frames!Next up: Arrow/ jewelry holder
Arrows are big on trend! Really fun to use in your decorations! I love them for gallery walls because they fill a small empty space–but I thought an arrow would be super cute in my daughters room as a necklace holder!
cut out…smooth finish..and sand (these would be perfect for scrap pieces!)
I painted a dowel and glued it into the holes I poked in!
You could hang some S hooks off the dowel for the jewelry..but I just hung them up directly on it!.
Number 3 Fun decorations–like a Tee Pee!
Same basic way as above…I used the Styrocutter® to melt circles and patterns–added smooth finish and painted! I had flaps that I glued on with Styroglue®.
I painted some skewers to stick in the top.
And then I used a Fiskars punch to decorate it!
I also made a Fiskar’s banner (using hot glue and baker’s twine!)
You can do all sorts of fun things…like a giant flamingo!
And last but not least: Make some names or words–
I actually was going to do the words play…and ran out of smooth finish! But luckily I’ve done a words a few times!
You can head HERE to see the how to–but you can easily wrap these in fun fabric…or paint! I also did a glitter version! (see here)
