This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media GroupĀ® and Sharpie Paint Marker, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #SharpiePaintCreate https://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
I had this Ugly dresser…(the BEFORE before…)
Then it got painted white. And it stayed white for far too long. I knew I wanted to do something fun and unique but nothing quite fit.
With the adult coloring trend so popular, I thought it would be fun to doodle flowers all over it! My only problem was what to use! I needed something the would go on smooth on wood, water resistant and quick drying (so I didn’t smudge it as I doodled) Thank goodness I stumbled upon Sharpie oil-based paint markers found at Michael’s Store! They weren’t even expensive (plus I was armed with a Michael’s coupon so I got them for a great price!)
They were perfect! I bought a fine tip and a medium (and ended up using both sizes!) They went on so smooth and easy! Just make sure to follow the instructions on the back to get the ink to flow!
You can use on virtually any surface: metal, pottery, wood, rubber, glass, plastic, stone, and more! They are also AP Certified and Xylene free! l
Before I started, I actually practiced out some doodles. I didn’t know if I wanted all flowers or some doodles and some flowers. I wasn’t sure if I wanted really close together or white space in between (I opted for white space!) If you need help coming up with doodle patterns or ideas–google it! Lots of fun images to draw inspiration from!
Then it was time to start! It was super hard to take some action photos…
so I opted for a fun time-lapse video instead!
I quite love how it turned out!
I was thinking it would be super fun to cover the dresser in dry erase paint first and then you could color and erase it!
The wood was rough in some places…but the Sharpie Paint Markers went on so smooth! I am hooked on them! I’ve got to head back to Michaels Store and buy all the colors! (Good thing they are all Sharpie Paint Markers are BOGO 50% off at Michaels June 5th through 11th and again June 19th through 25th while supplies last!)
I wish you could see it in person! I don’t think photos do it justice!
Alright! Head to Michaels and buy some Sharpie paint Markersand create your own masterpiece!
You can follow Sharpie and Michaels for lots more great DIY inspiration!

So cute! I need to learn how to doodle, haven’t really tried. Well done:-)

This is so cute! Love, love it and your doodling is so good! I think my favorite thing is your smart tip to move the bottom drawer up as you work. I don’t think I would have come up with that one. Good job!
Danielle says
So what happens if you mess up while you’re doodling? Can you wipe it off if you do it immediately?
Kimbo says
I didn’t try to wipe off…but I had some white paint for touch ups and mistakes!

I love the dresser. The quote “stop trying to make faith happen” caught my eye. Do you have a source for it or did you make it yourself?
Cleo Fraser says
Are you sure it says ‘faith’? It looks more like ‘fetch or Fitch’ to me. But, I’d like to know what it really says too, & where it came from….
Kimbo says
it does say fetch. It’s a quote from a movie!
Kimbo says
It says stop trying to make fetch happen. It’s a movie quote. and I wrote it!
