I created a couple advent calendar cut files (link is at the bottom) and so I wanted to show you how to turn them into fun signs (and because IÂ am addicted to crafting and #makeallthethings )
First up–I’m using all Expressions Vinyl (best vinyl ever) and cutting my cut files on my AWESOME silhouette cameo 3!
Mock up designs
First up…I like to open everything in my silhouette studio and make everything color coordinated so I can see what It will look like! And then if you are making more than one you can cut all the red at one time and white all together etc! I also measure out so the rectangles are the exact size of the wood frames I’m using!
I actually hopped on a facebook live and made some of these live if you want craft along!
How to make an advent calendar
First one…hooks! Â
I wanted this one to be a 12 countdown so I just measured out 12 spots.Â
Predrilled a little whole and screwed these little hooks into the board. ( found at Home Depot!)Â
Then I just added vinyl decal on. You can use these to hang little presents, candy canes etc!
OR these little bags! Our next advent!
I have created 1-25
Instead of making them into a sign I added them as heat transfer vinyl onto bags
You can hook these onto the first board–or use them individually. I do a 12 days of Christmas for my husband so I could just slip a treat into these little bags and pop it in his lunch. You could do little pieces of candy–or even scriptures in each bag!
This one isn’t an advent–but I took the 25 off the 1-25 and made a sign because I love the charger and this buffalo plaid vinyl.
I mean check out all the fun chargers hobby lobby had!
I totally thought you could grab this fun chalkboard vinyl and add a fun saying from my cut file bundle around the outside of the plate charger!
Like this Christmas is coming:
Speaking of chalkboard–there is also this version (still using that awesome chalkboard vinyl)Â (the days until Christmas is part of the cut files!)
and last advent calendar cut file signÂ
I just applied the vinyl and gave it a good rub on the chalkboard (this big frame is from Hobby Lobby)
Peel off the transfer tape
This board is magnetic so I bought lots of fun little things that I could move around day by day!Â
Just hot glued the magnet on the back and moved it day by day!
my cut files are here in my shop!
Every cut file is hand lettered by me on my ipad pro with an ipad pencil.I actually have a WHOLE video on how I create my cut files HERE!Â
I always use Expressions Vinyl and my silhouette cameo to create fun bags and signs!
