It was my daughter’s birthday (when i was at snap blog conference! such a bad momma!) but I did whip together a present that she loved! We adore doc mcstuffins…. She adores stuffed animals. It’s just a perfect match made in heaven.
first…i started with a nike box…and spray painted it purple…then added an image i found on the internet and printed off…
We had previously gotten a few different doctor kits over the years….
(she got a doc mcstuffins kit from walmart for christmas) but you could really make a few of these out of felt  (like here)
(and a bandaid holder out of an altoids tin)
Then i ended up making a few things for her
(just a 8 by 11 sheet of felt and the same size batting–hot glued together and then glued into a tube! then we drew on it!
i added her name and laminated and added an alligator clip
here’s the printable if you want it….
and made a cute door sign to hang on her door knob when she is “working” (per her request)
and i ended up making her a doctor jacket…..
Then i threw in some plastic gloves, a flashlight and some “tongue depressors” (Popsicle sticks)
(the kit came with fake bandaids…but you could buy the really cheap ones for 88 cents at walmart)
and we have all had about 45 check ups since…..
for more great doctor stuff….
check out these cool x-rays
and this fun set

the kit is adorable, but I have major issues with the fake medicine candy. This is never a good idea, as children can’t really tell the difference between their fake medicine and flavored real medicine. When I was a child, my younger sister swallowed a bottle of corn medicine because she thought it was candy – had to have her stomach pumped – so this really does happen.

My little two are obsessed with Miss Polly nursery rhyme and are playing doctors I am in the middle of making them a kit but you have given me a few more ideas. Great kit and Happy birthday to your little one. Also I am sure that the one time you missed her birthday she will forgive you so relax on the bad momma comments.

Oh this is great! My littlest daughter is obsessed with the Doc. We checked out a doctor kit from the library (yep. our library does that – love that place) and when it was time to return it, she hid it! It took several trips back to the library for renewal and bribery to get it returned. I need to do this.

i winged it!!! That’s why i didn’t post very much detail about it! I used a jacket to get the basic shape and made it baggy…and no closure. Just hangs open!
