The longer you cook the darker and thinker it gets, I normally bring to a boil than cook 5 to 7 minutes on low. Also you don’t have to use buttermilk, any milk is good. 😃

I use different flavors for the type cake I’m doing but it make them amazingly moist! poke some holes in the cake layer and pour the hot mixture over them and brush it around evenly. YUM!!!

Incredible! Regular syrup won’t cut it anymore. I used organic sugar whose color has a slightly darker color than plain granulated sugar, My syrup resulted in a darker color than the one depicted. I unashamedly confess I consumed much of it on things other than pancakes; ice cream, graham cracker, a spoon.
