How to create your own color themed bulletin board
This board has lots of different elements so I’m going to break it down by each item I made!
How to create giant crayons
These crayons turned out so fun and were pretty easy to diy!

I took a sharp knife and trimmed them down to a crayon length. You could probably get two crayons from one pool noodle. I used the knife to make a each end come to a crayon point. I didn’t love how rough it looked so I created a cone shape out of paper and covered up each tip.

I used some electrical tape on the pool noodles to create the crayon markings. You could also use black paper.
FYI: You can not hot glue anything onto the pool noodle. The heat from the gun will melt the noodle.

Crayon Box DIY
I did horrible documenting how I made the crayon box. Essentially it’s made from yellow foam core boards, but you could make it out of a cardboard box and paint it yellow. I taped a flap to each side of the foam core board and cut out an arch from the top.
Using green paper, I created the markings on the yellow box.

I wanted to reinforce it so if anyone bumped into the crayon box, it wouldn’t collapse. Hot gluing an Amazon box inside gave it the extra structure but doesn’t add too much weight. It also gave me something to hot glue the crayon box onto the bulletin board.
(You can also see that I made small crayons to fit inside the box!)

This is the bottom view.

How to make a giant paint pallette
This was super easy! WAY easier than the crayon box!

You have two options for the watercolor paint palette. Buy white paper plates and add paint onto each one. OR you could buy paper plates in different colors and just use them! I didn’t want to have a pile of colorful paper plates so I did the white paper plates!

I used the chinet paper plates since they were oval, but they are large. The paint tray is two full foam boards taped together. If you use smaller plates, you can trim down the boards.

Ignore the giant forehead, but once the paint is dry, hot glue the painted plates on! I used watered-down gray paint to create a little tray were the paint brush goes.

How to make a giant paint brush
I have seen where people have taken a broom and painted it to look like a paintbrush. I was trying not to spend any extra money and already had the pool noodles and mop head. So here is what I did! I cut out a brush shape from extra foam core board and stuck it in the middle of the mop. I hot glued the mop strands so they stayed put in the shape.
Taking a tin can (it was corn!) I cut out both sides with my can opener and hot glued it onto the mop head.

Then I taped it around the pool noodle with silver duct tape. I actually stepped on the can to flatten it out a little bit.

I wanted the paintbrush to look like it was being used, so I added some paint on the end.

How to creat a paint tube
The paint tube was the last thing I made and it’s one of my favorites!

I took a two-liter bottle and cut off the bottom. Squeeze the bottle together, then add a staple or hot glue to secure the bottom.

I took some leftover poster paper and wrapped the bottom. I hot glued the paper into place.

I rolled up all the excess paper that hung off the bottom and hot-glued that into place as well.

Then I hot glued it silver and painted on some words. I also cut out some scrap paper to make it look like spilled paint.
How to create the words
I used a lot of letters that were leftover from my other bulletin boards. There were a little smaller than I wanted for how big this board is. So I added a few things. First up, I cut out the word COLOR from foam core board and painted it in.

I did end up making a printable, so you could simply print the words out and cut them out. Just trying to save you a step!
I did create a blank and colored in version as well
Go here to print the word COLOR
Go here to print the word PAINT
I also painted a paint swipe on some butcher paper so the smaller letters wouldn’t get lost on the big board.

Assemble the Kindness bulletin board
Each board starts by putting up the poster paper and the border. Then I like to put the words up in the center so I can place all the objects around the phrase.
Since the foam core board is too thick for the staplers, I hot glued them up, but ended up stapling the rest of the words on.

I hot-glued most everything on. You need to make sure the poster paper is stapled to the board wehre you are hot gluing so the crayon box or paint pallet won’t pull off the paper for being too heavy.

Like I mentioned, you can’t hot glue pool noodles, so I hot glued the tin can and added a clear piece of tape around the top of the paint brush to keep it in place!
AND here is the finished product!

This board is bigger than the other boards but I don’t think I realized just how big my crayon and paint pallet was! If you wanted to omit the paint pallet and just do wht crayons and add a crayon on the opposite side instead, I think that would look darling! You could also add a crepe paper around the board leadind from a crayon so it looks like the crayon was being drawn with.

OR you could put PAINT the world with kindness, and do the paint palette and get rid of the crayons. Put the paint brush on the opposite side and add a few more spilled paint blotches made with paper! Any way you make it, it will turn out cute! This one is just so fun and bright! and hopefully reminds everyone to BE KIND!
