Today I’m going to show you how to make a growth chart–with a couple different ways to jazz it up–PLUS  a free cut file! (down below)

Basically–you just grab a 6 foot board from the Home Depot. I get 6 inches wide…but they also have 4 inches and even 10 inches. and after I was done with these 6 foot…I thought it would be so fun to do a wide one and add pictures all down one side!!!

Anyways…stain or paint to add some pop. Then there are 3 different ways to add the numbers.

First way to add numbers-wood!

I found a whole section of little numbers in the wood working aisle at Hobby Lobby. They came in white…so I didn’t even have to paint them!

Second way to add number decals on growth chart: stickers.

Guys. Go down the Hobby Lobby sticker aisle. There are so many amazing number stickers. thick ones, fun patterned ones-gold shiny ones! Just peel and stick. Doesn’t get any eaiser than that!

Third diy growth chart idea: vinyl!

Yup. Of course, I cut out the 1, 2 to 6 out of vinyl! You get any fun font you want–plus color! I love Expressions vinyl! So many options!

Growth chart lines and spacing:

I literally took my scrap vinyl and used my fiskars paper trimmer and cut vinyl into strips. Then I laid out a measuring tape along the side of the growth chart and just applied the lines and numbers right on the wood using the measuring tape as a guide to keep me in line! The bottom of the growth chart I actually didn’t start at 1–I started at 6 inches. That way I have a room at the top to add my fun cut file (and if you are putting it on the wall-you aren’t going to run into a baseboard!)

Then just apply it to the top with transfer tape! If you need help with adhesive vinyl–go here!

I always use Expressions Vinyl and my silhouette cameo to create fun bags and signs!
