Decorated maracas

This week has been showcasing some fun things we did for my daughter’s birthday party (Fiesta 14!) One crafty element we had the party goers do was decorate their own maracas!!

You can actually buy really cute decorated ones from Oriental Trading…but I love crafting up my own! So I snagged a set of 24 plain maracas from them instead!

I game them a coat of fun colored spray paint.

Using Sharpie Paint pens (they go on the paint perfectly and pop off any color!) to decorate! These were just in a pile on one of the tables and the kids totally had fun decorating them.

It’s fun to see some people’s creativity! I wanted to doodle little tiny shapes on them–but I loved the splatter one! So unique!

You could spray them over with a clear protective coat if they are going to be used a lot…but they have held up pretty good so far without it!
