Sock exchange instead of white elephant gifts!

Last year my sister came up with the idea to do a sock exchange for all the cousins instead of white elephant gifts! White elephant gifts are kind of hard for kids…we always seem to have a couple kids that are upset–And they are really hard to buy when we have cousins with ages that range from 17-6.

but SOCKS! Socks are universal and they have so many fun ones!!! We have 20 grandkids so we split it up into boys/girls and an old group and a young group of each. We all agreed to slip in a package of skittles and a capri sun into a pair of socks before we wrapped. (you could do nailpolish/chapstick, silly putty, Lots of fun things that are small! That way each kid gets the same thing and no one is upset!  We read a story about right and left and have the kids pass it (no stealing) and then everyone opened up! I think everyone loved them!
