Food Friday–BAKED caramel corn.

can i go on a mini rant?

silly me. it’s my blog and i’ll rant if i want to.

i hate when there are words that you pronounce two ways.

like Caribbean

or CarIbbEAn

and tomato toMATo…

and caramel….or CAREamel…..

drives me nuts.

mainly cause i don’t know if I am saying it wrong….

either way –this is the best CARAMEL corn EVER!!!

it’s baked. so it’s not sticky.

and you can eat the entire bowl IT’s JUST THAT GOOD.

baked non sticky caramel corn!


2 cubes butter or margarine
2 cups brown sugar
½ cup karo syrup

melt in saucepan

Boil 5 min.

it will look like this:


(make sure to boil the whole 5 minutes!)
remove from heat and add:

½ tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla


Pour over two gallons (2 bags) and stir until covered. Pour onto cookie sheet and bake 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stirring every 15 minutes.

(now..that might be a deal breaker! but it makes it soooo good! but every 15 minutes you just make sure to bring the popcorn on the bottom up to the top to evenly coat!!! it only takes a couple minutes!

after an hour you take it out and break it apart and put it in a bowl.

and eat it all…and since it’s “baked” it’s healthy….

(okay. maybe not..but it makes me feel better!)
