well…wouldn’t you know it. I’m actually using my glue gun. I was beginning to think that i should change my name to
a girl and a bunch of random craft crap
definitely not as catchy.
anyways. i’m recovering my kids card table.
here’s the before…we aren’t over the princess stage yet
but we are definitely over the gross, stainedness.
(we’ve painting our fingers on here one to many times)
and while at joanns…i noticed this fun roll of vinyl (by the vinyl tablecloths)
and i was itching to make something with it..and this was PERFECT! it’s easy to wipe up and clean up and it’s pretty durable.
but since it was slightly see-through…i added a thin white muslin underneath
make sure that you don’t add too much padding. cause if you do, and your kids try to draw on it.. they are going to poke holes through it.
and then i just placed a square of polka dot over it and hot glued it underneath
(folding in the corners kinda like a present)
and since the chair covers were gone (if they were still intact i would have just hot glued some polka dots over it)
i made a cover…it was rectangle of black fleece that i folded over the back and pinned down so i knew where to sew. then i just added a strip of polka dot to the front.
so cute!
and she totally loves it.
okay. they both totally love it.the pink matches the girl’s bedroom–but if you are working with a color you aren’t thrilled with…SPRAY PAINT!!!

This is pure genius!!! I don’t have any kids yet, but my nieces have that exact table. Makes me want to tell my sister to save EVERYTHING kid related she has so I can just redo them when I have my own hahaha. I will be well prepared!

I literally just did this the other week with the boys’ table! Gone are the days of Toy Story…now the days of boys with the quote “Geek Gone Wild” and colors to match are here to stay. Looks so much better! Although, personally I’m more of a fan of the pink with polka dots!

oh it’s really cute, it’s also still girly but more grown up. I did a houndstooth cover of my craft table with contact paper which I love !!! If you want to check it out http://www.mellywoodsmansion.com/2013/05/houndstooth-table-makeover-in-20-minutes.html

Did the hot glue hold up or did you have to reglue it?
Kimbo says
Yes! It held up great!
