vinyl bags–easy and cute!

i bought a bunch of this marine vinyl —it’s in joanns. on the big fat rolls..
(not to be confused with vinyl for walls)
tons of cute colors.
i’ll admit. it was the colors that grabbed me.
then the fact that it doesn’t fray so you don’t have to finish seams.
then i realized you can draw sharpie on it…and  glue it..
and then i got down on one knee and proposed.
(fyi. i got down on one knee and proposed to my husband. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER.
(not really)
i’m FIRST going to show you the basic how-tos how to make a bag…then show you the crap i made with it..
for a purse…you take a rectangle…(i added a triangle to the top for the purse flap that hangs over….

sew up the two sides

while still wrong side out…pinch bag….and sew across to make a triangle..

then turn right side out…push out the corners…

and you add a handle and done!

I used fabric…

this one is braided fabric…

or i even added real handles with vinyl scraps

then you get all fancy and add scallops…or decorations…

now..at first i thought you could hot glue. it semi-held.
but after noticing a few hearts around my house i realized that it wasn’t going to be my first choice…
luckily i just got a fun little package from ELMERS
i can NOT tell you enough how much i love these painter pens! LOVE.
and it was (last month. but really? it needs to be all year!!!) 374489_495444133826542_1757911964_n
anyways..it was this glue that caught my eye…. DSC02321
do you see that list of stuff it adheres too? and 5 minuetes! sold!!!! and it worked AWESOME!!!!!!
i added a little velcro to keep it closed…
i didn’t’ end up using buttons..but still would be fun!
and you can use sharpie with them…i was so in love at this point!
i glued these handles on with that elmer’s glue as well—-

you can make these any size–i made a few sunglass holder ones.

if you notice the yellow and pink are just two pieces put together and sewn around… no turning it right side out!

ipod holders…

one to hold all my cases…

business cards…

business card holder

vinyl holder

or punch cards…or lipstick….(just add a little flap with velcro…

as you can tell–i had a blast. i only bought 12 inches of each color…and i made a bunch of hair crap stuff (that you have to wait for hair crap week to see) and i still have some left over. so it goes really far)
