what to do with those expensive roses that die.

So…I’m not trying to rub it in your face….

but remember these beautiful flowers husband bought me for Valentine’s Day?

and I loved them.
and admired them..

and found the receipt in my car.

and passed out.

and woke up and thought…geesh.. that’s a lot of money to spend on something that dies.
(I think that about my husband too)

I decided to come up with a little crafty craft to preserve these flowers so they have more than one use….

I used a phone book and smooshed my petals…

I had this old oval frame…I took out the picture and  traced the shape on some paper and drew a heart as my template…and wrote some words (and date) on it cause I didn’t want to risk crushing my petals with my hand later…

and shot the frame with a little krylon spray paint in gray…

Then took my second love (I say second cause my glue gun has never bought me roses) and worked my way around the heart with my roses…

overlapping as i go….

so pretty.  I  love a little reminder about that one time my husband loved me enough to buy me flowers.
(husband: hint hint)
(but let’s buy them at walmart and save some money on them mkay?)
or better yet..buy me a gift card to joanns..
I’ll be yours forever.
and I’ll frame the card once I spend it all..

and guess what? This isn’t my first rodeo with pressed flowers…I also made some bookmarks and cards HERE
