Today I’m showing you thse fun tie dye shirts….made a bit funner using Expressions Vinyl
I don’t know about you…but when I think summer I think watermelon and tie dye. I love it! It just seems fun and colorful…just like summer! I got this super fun tie dye kit in the mail from I love to create! It’s fantastic…and has everything….down to rubber bands and gloves!
They also sent me some fun free printables!
You can grab a ton of awesome free printables…like a banner, invitations, cupcake toppers, instruction cards….and more!
so basically… I had to have a tie dye party! It was fun cause everyone wanted to try a different technique!
You can go HERE to see alllll the fun ways to get different results. Here is my word advice….Use lots…I thought I was getting the whole thing covered in my spiral blue shirt…but once I opened it…it wasn’t fully covered! We still love how I looks…but in case you want it solid with color!
I followed the instructions and let it sit for a few hours and then washed.
After the shirts were washed and dry it was time to add some iron on vinyl! I picked some from designs…Son chose a superman one (thus the blue shirt) and the girls wanted hearts! I cut it out with my silhouette cameo. When cutting heat transfer you cut the back side of the vinyl (so you flip the design horizontal)
and then weed…(pull away the vinyl isn’t part of your design.)
Iron the shirts to get out wrinkles and moisture
The awesome part about heat transfer vinyl is that it’s not super sticky…so you can place and replace it until you have it perfect.See the plastic sheet over the s? That’s the carrier sheet. (That’s why you cut through the backside…this is what you iron on)
Press each spot for 15 seconds and once the whole design has been pressed you can peel up the plastic sheet!
(the heart was just a fun design that we put a heart image in…
it was a nightmare to weed! I did it at my husband’s softball tournament! (follow me on instagram (agirlandagluegun) for sneak peeks like this!
but worth it cause it turned out cute!
The purple heart has this fun pearl heat transfer behind it.
and then we added vinyl to this other tank top my daughter had…cause she is the WILD CHILD!
