We have faces – a smiley face at the top (everyone starts the day here), under that is a straight face, then a squiggly face, and a sad face at the bottom. Each move of the clothespin has its consequences. My 4-year-old does not want her clothespin moved! I borrowed this idea from my son's school. The K&1st grade teachers have plywood faces on stands and a clothespin for each child.
