How to make a Sew a Halloween garland
The basics are the same for both the candy corn garland and the ghost garland except for a few things. If you’re making the candy corn garland, you will need to sew the 3 candy corn strips together. They are about 1 1/2 think, but you can customize this and make smaller and bigger ones.
Step 1:
For each ghost or candy corn, you need two pieces. A front and back.
Step 2
Put the right sides together and sew around the edge, leaving an opening about an inch and a half wide.
Step 3
Turn it right sides out and add stuffing until full.
Step 4
Whipstitch the opening closed.
If you are making ghosts, I added black eyes with a marker. I did eyes on both sides.
Repeat for how many you need for your garland. I used about 8 for a garland that fit across my mantle.
Assemble the Garland
There are so many fun color combinations and patterns you can do, but the basic how-to is to use a yarn needle and baker’s twine.
Just thread the needle and string through the beads, felt balls, and directly through the middle of the ghost/candy corn.
I made one that was 5 feet long. I made one that was 2 feet long to hang across my basket on my table!
