“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and PEOPLE StyleWatch® and InStyle®, Magazines but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia
For the past two weeks I have been sick. sick sick sick. On top on whatever ailment I have…I have allergies. It’s been a miserable past few days. And of course, I’m a mom…so it’s not like life just stops and I can’t stay in bed and hide under the covers until I feel better. I still have to make sure we have treats for my son’s football team, and make sure my daughter gets to dance, and there is homework every night, and dinners to make, and piles of Laundry–and of course my “blogging job” deadlines! Luckily I “work from home” so I can at least do this in my Pajamas! But every once in awhile you need a “Back to me time”….A time to Refresh, Renew, remember that you are more than a rundown mom! So I went to Alberstons and bought all the makings to have a little “Kim time”. This is what “Kim time” looks like in case you are wondering….
(Honestly Kim time involves a little more chocolate 🙂 I love baths. LOVE. It’s my favorite way to unwind. Slap on a face mask, plop in some bath bombs and read a good magazine in the bath. We live in a small town and I couldn’t find any bath bombs….So we diyed some! (they are really easy!)
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup Citric Acid (found by the canning stuff)
1/2 cup cornstarch
3 tablespoons epsom salt
2 teaspoons Oil
3/4 teaspoon water
15 drops scented Oil (we used grapefruit!)
Food coloring to make it pretty!
In a large bowl combine baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch, epsom salt.
In a small bowl combine water, oil and scented oil.
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Slowly…so it doesn’t foam up! Use a whisk until totally mixed in. When all of the wet ingredients have been added, you should have a mixture with the consistency of slightly damp sand. It should clump together when you squeeze it. Press into molds and let dry overnight!
We didn’t have any “fancy” molds…So we pressed some into cookie cutters!
I got this new punch from Fiskars…it’s makes little bows–put the bath bomb in a cute little bag. Add a printable (down at the bottom of this post) and glue on a little itty bitty bow with a sticky thumb glue dot!! So cute!
You can see how it fizzes up! LOVE IT!
Plop one in the bath, open up and eat some candy and relax in your bath reading your favorite magazine —
My two favorites are InStyle® and People StyleWatch®. Reading these magazines has always been my guilty pleasure! And they are full of fun fall fashion, diy and inspiration! Right now you can take advantage of $1.00 off participating titles (PEOPLE®, InStyle®, People StyleWatch®, Real Simple®, and Sunset®) with this digital offer until 10/18/15 while supplies last! (all the stuff except the bath bomb was bought at Albertsons!) Put it all in a cute basket and “treat yo’ self”–or give to someone else that needs some “me time” This would make a totally fun gift to give to that stressed out momma or friend or teacher (I’m not a pop drinker–but I’m sure a diet coke or Dr. pepper would go good in this little gift!
How do you relax?
