I can’t get enough of washi tape. I buy mine here or here or here
can’t. get. enough.
i love it…so much!!! (it’s basically like patterned tape..) but i’m finding an excuse to stick it on everything!!!
and I was wrapping up an etsy order and put washi tape on it…and thought..this would be so much fun if it said THAnk you!
and so i did…cause it’s easy.
hoped on the computer and printed all different sayings and fonts…cause i’m addicted to fonts!
then you pick your washi tape…you want light colors..and not too much pattern on it…and lay it over each line…
then peel it up..you can see the ink sticks to it!!! IT’s amazing
slap it on everything…packages…
letters…
lunchbags, notes to your kids, scrapbooking pictures, anything you want a special little note!!!!
I love this washi tape:
and this onethis one is adorable
and this one:
edited to add: Some people said it won’t work with their specific printers. My printer is an HP photo smart
HP Photosmart D110A Wireless Printer (CN731A#B1H)
So..if it doesn’t work…you could follow these instructions and then before you pull up the washi…run it through your printer and have them print on top of the washi!!!! good luck!

Awesome! I have seen people print directly on the washi tape, but after trying it, I found that the ink just smears off – I like this way better. I’ll have to give it a try!

I have a LASER printer and this was a no go for me. Do you have an ink-jet perhaps? May want to specify in your above post?
pinkhandprint says
What kind of printer does it work with; inkjet or laser?
Barb Glasscoe says
Yeah — it did not work for me at all. It either pulls up absolutely nothing or if you press it really hard then it pulls up a layer of paper along with it.
Did you by any chance do your printing on something other than just regular copy paper? Was it something with a shiny finish that might allow the print to lift off?
Liz says
Hi! I wanted to try this super cool idea, but the ink doesn’t stick to my laser printed letters 🙁
Did you do this with an inkjet? Or is there another way to try with my laser printer…
Thanks!! Liz

I was thinking that you could print it on the paper for alignment, then put the tape over the words put that into the printer and print again to get the words on the front of the tape. I’m not sure the tape isn’t too slick, but I’m going to try it. I’m like you, I love fonts!

Just a heads-up for any fellow readers with a laser printer (like me!) — sticking the Washi tape directly IN the printer to print on it? Sounds great, but it can melt and gum up and completely ruin your printer! Not saying it will; it depends on your model. But wanted to throw that warning out there just as a caveat!
Kimbo says
good heads up! Thanks!

Could you tell me the names of two of the fonts used here?
I love the font used for the “Limbo loves you” and the “Thank You” under it!
Please let me know the name of those fonts and or where to get them. Thanks!

Staz On Ink will not smudge if you use it on top of your washi tape. You have to let it dry thoroughly though otherwise it will smudge. This is the way I ‘print’ on my washi tape. You can buy plain washi tape and print your own patterns on it! Have fun with which ever way works for you. 🙂
