OMG that is totally adorable! My mom used to embroidery on my clothes when I was little. She/we passed them onto my younger sister. Because you could not waste good hand work. My Mom was a wonder at hand work – I never had bought clothes from the stores. She made all my clothes with her special touches all through high school.

FYI that dress is found at hobby lobby too. Haven’t seen them at Joanns but I don’t know for sure they don’t sell them.
