I’ve got a super duper easy apron/sewing project for you…that would be amazing for a mother’s day present! and it only involves 2…and a half things)
You need two fat quarters…and some heat transfer! (this sis the half…fun iron on vinyl is actually optional…but SUPER cool to customize it with! I get all mine from Expressions vinyl (loads of colors!)
One of the fat quarters it the main part of the apron! The other one is going to be cut into strips for the ties and edging. (6 strips=one fat quarter)
You need to make bias tape…fold over the two sides
and then fold in half and iron to keep in place!
Then pin around sides and bottom and sew it on.
Take the remaining three pieces…sew them all together to make one long strip…this will be you tie. Fold it in half and pin it to the middle of your apron. Sew it the whole length.
Then cut out a fun design (I used my cameo) When using Vinyl heat transfer..the m0st important part to remember is to flip the image cause you cut it all backwards!
Peel away all the extra that’s not part of your design, flip it over to where you want it…
and iron it on (15 seconds pressing on each spot!) It’s such a super easy and fun apron that can be whipped up in no time flat!!
Make sure to check out all the fun vinyls they have at Expressions Vinyl! (go HERE)

First of all, I don’t have a Cameo to cut out the cute vinyl letters/mitt, and second, in the MAIN pic of the apron on the model, I noticed that the waistband is a lot wider, which makes the apron look a lot better than the OTHER apron shown later that has the tiny band of material as the waistband, laying on a table. But, guess that took another material ‘quarter’, right, and more expense? I was sooo excited to see a project I could make fast, but was disappointed with these two deterrents. Be honest upfront next time, please.

The waistband is the same in both….despite what the picture looks like. I only used two fat quarters. Same apron! I still have it hanging on my apron wall. AND yes…you have to have a cameo to add a little fun element…but you also need a sewing machine. And you could freezer stencil the pattern on if you really wanted too. and that doesn’t require a cameo.
