Whenever I leave my kids at home while I go out of town…I like to leave them with a little incentive to make sure the house doesn’t fall apart! Last time it was this fun idea! Â
But I decided to change it up a little this time around by making a prize punch board!
Okay–so the main idea is that each kid, after they finish their chores, gets to punch through the tissue paper to reveal their prize (or where their prize is hidden!)Â
and I kept thinking of ways to reuse this…so I spent some time on it and made it a little more kid resistant than just normal mom project! (I have a list of ideas down below for ways to use this over and over again)
First up
Supplies to make Prize punch board:
- box
- tissue paper
- cups
- knife/scissors
- hot glue gun
- paint (optional)
- rubber bands
Like I said…I wanted to use this over and over again so I painted the box all white. (This is nice big box-thanks so much AMAZON addiction) I hot glued the flaps all down. (it’s about 8 inches deep–but that’s so I could prop it up without it falling over)Â
I measured circles that are a little bit smaller than the opening of the cups and cut them out with my awesome Fiskars knife!Â
I popped in the cups and hot glued around the circles to keep them in place.Â
This is how the box will be stored. Then when it’s time to have a party…you can fill each cup with treats, prizes, or clues and then add the tissue paper!Â
and you can color coordinate the tissue paper for your party! I just cut circles that were a few inches larger than the circles.
Then I just took a rubber band and tied it around the tissue paper and lip of the cup. This makes it easier to reuse over and over again!Â
Then you just get to punch the hold to reveal your prize!
Okay! Now let’s talk about all the different ways you can use this over and over again!
I thought this would be so fun as at a birthday party. Or a classroom party. You could write numbers on the tissue paper and have them do a math problem to reveal their prize. You could hide clues in it if the prize is too big. Perfect for church activities-songs to sing. You could even use it for chores! (Chores aren’t fun…but it would be fun to pick one! May the odds be ever in our favor!) Library–put book titles in there and people have to read the book that they draw. You could put all your favorite place to eat out and then every time you can’t decide where to go…punch one! (same with movies) One mom said she used this idea at her son’s birthday party but they had to shoot them with nerf bullets! SO MANY FUN OPTIONS to use this prize punch board!
I also go a lot of questions about what I put in there as my prizes. If I’m using this when I’m out of town–I opt for “busy” prizes. Games and toys that keep them busy. Crafts, slime kits, coloring books, books. Things like that. But I have done bath bombs, candy, a coupon for one song off of itunes, The target dollar section as loads of fun things that are perfect and cheap!
Okay guys! If you have any clever ideas on how you use it…let me know!

I am looking for this idea to use at a potty training prize board. I am preparing for soon and I am collecting prizes and I wanted a fun way to offer them as a mystery!
