Baby—it’s HOT outside! so let’s cool off with a loads of fun water balloon ideas!
first up>>>> fun things to buy that make water balloons easy peasy!
my faucet doesn’t work with the adapter…and i don’t want to spend hours sitting on the ground on the side of my house filling them up…so I love this water balloon pump
pumps your balloon up (with water or air) super easy!
This russian roulette game looks soooo much fun! you never know when the pin’s going to pop the balloon…you pull the trigger and if it doesn’t pop you pass it the next person!
How about a quick way to get LOADS of balloons! BUNCH O BALLOONS!
and this! Oh man..my kids can’t tie balloons…if they had one of these we could whip out SOOOO many balloons!
Or this fun balloon tying tool
okay! on with the water balloons ideas! like this fun flip flop makeover!!!
***********
you have seen these milk jugs all over…you cut off the bottom (I added painters tape to take away the sharp edges)
then we used them to catch the water balloons!
********
another super fun idea is a dart game…fill up a bunch of water balloons and pop them!
**************
sooo much fun! (my brother got answered for a date dance with balloons filled with shaving cream. there was a y in one and e and then an s. he had to pop the balloon and dig through and find it! it was a mess…but obvs it was awesome cause i remembered it!
************
these water balloon balls are sure to be a HUGE hit!
************
love this idea! we always have a kid that cries cause they got hit to hard with a balloon…so focus their energies elsewhere! (i’ve also seen putting sight words or math and they have to splash the right one )
**************
how about a fun snack for those hot days? my kids would love ice cream in these chocolate bowls!
**********
0r diy your own candles!
************
water balloon baseball….we just played this (we actually played kick ball) but first, second, and third base was a mini swimming pool…and then you had to go on the slip and slide to get home!
**********
if you have a big group you could use a sheet…but try a water balloon towel toss!
***********
we also did an old school hand toss.. after each throw you have to take a step back–the ones that get the furthest apart without popping the balloon wins!
************
don’t want to get wet? put those colorful balloons into a fun summer topiary
or a wreath!
*********
we used to play this all the time…a little trampoline action. each person has a color and you try to pop theirs without getting yours popped. the more people the crazier it gets!
***************
a spoon race!! (these pictures are amazing!)
on the same post is this fun can game…you could totally throw water balloons at them instead!
*************
make a hot air balloon!
**************
do you remember the game 500? you call out a number and throw the ball and whoever gets it gets the points…first one to 500 gets a turn to throw the ball?
well, substitute ball for water balloon
**************
this next idea has GOT to be one of my favorites!
************
or tie some rope (and paste) around a balloon and let dry and you have your own decoration (or bowl)

Hello, I am creating a workshop for Early Childhood Educators on how to utilize recycled materials in their classrooms. I would like to request permission to use the photo of the Milk Jug toss game as an example.
Thanks so much.
