but i’m in the mood to chat…so i have a little backstory for you…

ucreate and i have a history. i followed ucreate before i had a blog. it pushed me to  start a craft blog…and i started one. and back then ucreate used to feature a new blogs on their sidebar and i submitted….then stalked it even more. (that’s how i started following i am momma hear me roar. we started at the same time)

and they put me on there. (back then it was just a she..not a they)

and i was ecstatic.

then i was all, “Kim, you will know you have made it when ucreate has featured your crap.”

and i submitted a few things here and there…things i thought were ucreate worthy (ie didn’t take ten crappy hot glue minutes) and then it happened. they featured me HERE

and i was…well. perma grin comes to mind.

then they featured me again HERE and then HERE then HERE and then HERE and then HERe and those ones i didn’t even submit. i felt truly awesome.

what i’m trying to say is…i’ve officially made it.

okay not really. i don’t think i will ever think my blog is “big”  but sometimes you kinda wonder if anyone really likes your crap. you spend lots of time on a project to get no feedback–no comments or anything. it can be discouraging. then when you have someone like ucreate feature you it gives you that little love that makes it all worthwhile. (keep in mind this was before pinterest)

So i will forever be obsessed with ucreate! I might not have continued on with this little old blog if i hadn’t had the linky love i got from them!!!!  Just for kicks—what’s the first blog you ever followed?

About Kimbo

Kimbo blogs at A girl and a glue gun--where she puts her hot glue gun to good use (as well as her vinyl cutter and sewing machine) She loves all crafts and is thrifty (the nice way to say she's cheap) So she is constantly trying to come up with fast and easy projects that won't break the bank! She lives in Idaho with her hot husband and 3 kiddos.

  1. love the basket! You were, gosh must be more than 2 years ago now, my first blog and I fell in love. I came over for a hair “crap” post and then spent the entire weekend and read EVERY single post and I haven’t missed one since…(yeah sounds really suck upy I know). When I was feeling down a new post would cheer me up, feeding the baby during the night, you were my company. Then eventually I started my own and I got what a thrill blogging can be. The day I saw you had pinned something of mine…..PURE JOY 🙂

  2. YOU HAVE MADE IT!!! :o) I can’t remember the first blog… But I think I saw Homemade By Jill first…. and started stalking her :o) Of course you were one of my “firsts” too! I’m over on No Big Dill tomorrow and over the moon about that…so I know what you mean.

  3. Wow, never thought to make a bike basket! smart, and now on the list. The first blog I ever followed were my friends, who are awesome DIYers. The first big one was younghouselove, since I was into renovating my house at the time.

  4. Becky @ U Create says:

Ms. Kimbo, you are amazing and always welcome at U Create! I am planning to make this bike basket for my daughters new bike. She will love it!

  5. Kimbo! I remember featuring every single one of the projects you mentioned and I was honored to have you join our fat quarter series! You’re amazing and I have to admit this post made my whole day. Thank you for your kind words. Motivating others to make things and inspire them is truly my #1 goal!!!
    Thank YOU!
